China

China is a country located in East Asia, with a population of approximately 1.404 billion people. The capital of China is Beijing, and the official language is Chinese. China is the world’s most populous country and the fourth largest country by land area. The country has a long and rich history, with a civilization that dates back more than 5,000 years. China is a socialist state governed by the Communist Party of China, with the President as the head of state and the Premier as the head of government. The country’s economy is the second largest in the world, with a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism. The official currency of China is the Chinese yuan, and the exchange rate is approximately 6.35 yuan to 1 US dollar

Elok works closely with Chinese contractors in China who exports their systems and know-how to neighboring countries and also internationally. Although many products are already available in China for these industries, we are a great addition to the portfolio of specialized Ex products which may not be available in China due to the rarity of the application- hence there is no incentive to design and build them, since the market does not justify the production of such devices when a contractor in China is faced with the need to supply e.g. Zone 0 camera equipment.

Nowadays, more companies in China are turning to robot technology in order to either replace the need for human work. These robot devices can be installed in  tank cleaning and inspection scenarios where a technician no longer has to face entering a confined space where dangerous or hazardous gasses are present. With Elok’s zone 0 certification of the products, it is now possible to complete certain automated inspections where the specialized hazardous area camera is fitted to the end of a robot arm.
